Beta
How do I enter a custom RSS Feed?
Who is this guy Norm? And why did he share an Album of Photos with me?
Norm Levy is the founder of LifeGoRound. He shared an Album with you because he wanted to make sure that if you have yet to add any of your own photos or content to LifeGoRound that you would not be staring at a blank canvas:-) More important, he wanted you to see how cool it is to have a “Friend” on LifeGoRound and how easy it is to drag and drop content onto each others Profile Image. Go ahead, drop a photo or album onto Norm’s Profile Image and it instantly appears on HIS LifeGoRound. When you click on hid Profile Image you will see all content shared between you. You can “Remove” Norm as a “Friend” any time. You can also place his Album in the “Trash” at any time. He will not take it personally. But he will be upset if you do not start adding your own “Friends” and family so you can start sharing immediately, in real-time! And, don’t forget, all “shared” content magically appears on your LifeG0Round-compliant device, such as the eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame.
Why bring your contacts (address books) in from your GMAIL and YAHOO email accounts? (and thank you for making this optional good people at LifeGoRound):
At your option, LifeGoRound can bring your contacts into your profile. This simply brings your contacts into your LifeGoRound account. If you choose to have LifeGoRound bring in your contacts from GMAIL and YAHOO, we will not communicate with any of them. By choosing “Import” from the selection of your settings, all of your contacts from “Google Gmail” and “Yahoo” will be imported into your LifeGoRound account. Your contacts will be listed in your “contacts” of your “My Friends” tab. You can then, at your convenience, at your will, choose contacts to Invite to LifeGoRound. Once they become LifeGoRound members, you will be notified and can then choose to “friend” them. Even if you do not “invite” them to join LifeGoRound, if they ever sign-up at a later date, the system will know to notify you that they have arrived:-) What took them so long?
Who can see my content (Photos, Albums,Videos, Music, Tweets) or anything I add to my LifeGoRound account?
Only the people that you want to share “specific” content with. You choose specifically what to share and to whom to share it with. The only exception to this is when you participate in a “publicly” shared Group that allows you to share photos with others that were at a common event such as a concert, sporting event, etc.
When I become “Friends” with someone in LifeGoRound do they automatically get to see my photos and content?
No! They only get to see photos, albums and content that you specifically want to share with them. If you want to share a photo or album with a “friend”, you must drag and drop the content onto their “Profile Image”.
What information from my “Profile information” is public?
Your Profile information has your “name” and your chosen “user name” as well as a brief “about you” that is only meant for you to put a description in so friends and family know that it is you. The other field is your “location” city and state. Your email address is never shown. Only if a friend or family member is looking/searching for you and THEY type in your full email address (it must be your full and complete email address) partial email address searches do not work, than your Profile will come up. But again your email address is not shown. When someone finds you, they can see your “Profile Image” as well as your name, user name and location,
Sharing is Easy, Secure & Fun! *
If you add someone as a “Friend” in LifeGoRound you then have the ability to share photos and albums with them by simply dragging and dropping photos and albums onto their Profile “image” (literally you drop it on their face:-). Furthermore, it is important for you to know that they will not have access to any of your content unless you specifically share it with them.
When you want to drag and drop a photo or album from one album to another, you must first expand the albums list by clicking the (+) plus button to the left of the specific Network ICON in your “Library”. This will show you all available Albums within that Network. You can expand or collapse the Networks and albums as necessary for you to view properly.
Once you tell LifeGoRound where all of the photos that reside ONLINE and OFFLINE are, it then, automatically, without doing anything further creates a personal stream to any of your LifeGoRound “connected” devices and your photos and albums magically appear on the devices.
You also have the option to create a smart Public RSS Feed (orange ICON) for your content to be fed (streamed) to any non-compliant LifeGoRound “connected” devices or readers.
* We would like to point out that your photos and albums may not be private when using services such as Flickr, Photobucket, etc. When you add images from your “public” accounts, please realize that these images are available to the “public” prior to bringing them in to LifeGoRound. Most services offer the option for “private” or “public” so choose your desired preference in each service you use. Feel free to ask us questions at any time if we can help: feedback (at) lifegoround dot com
What are the purposes of the Check (select or unselect) boxes in the top left corner of each Album and each Photo?
If the BOX is checked (selected) then that Album or Photo is automatically part of your stream to your LifeGoRound-compliant device (such as the eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame)
If the BOX is NOT checked (not selected) than the Album or Photo will remain in your LifeGoRound but will NOT appear on your LifeGoRound-compliant device (such as the eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame). This gives you great flexibility to enjoy only the photos and albums that you want to on your LifeGoRound-compliant device while still being able to enjoy them within your LifeGoRound experience.
What is the purpose of a LifeGoRound-”compliant” device?
One of the extremely cool things about LifeGoRound is its built-in ability to stream your content to a Digital Photo Frame. The importance of using a LifeGoRound-compliant Digital Frame, or other connected device, is that it automatically, in a secure (encrypted) fashion, accepts YOUR LifeGoRound feed without your having to do anything further. All content that is in your LifeGoRound “Library” is automatically part of your feed to your compliant LifeGoRound device (such as the eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame). Your albums and photos magically appear on your frame and can be enjoyed at any time. Furthermore, if a friend or family member has a compliant device and has accepted your “friendship” on LifeGoRound, you can drag and drop photos and albums that will appear on their Digital Frame! Finally! The answer to the age-old question on how to properly keep Grandma up-to-date with your Photos!
If you are a electronics device manufacturer or chip developer and would like the simple details of how to become compliant with LifeGoR0und, please email us.
Can I still enjoy streaming my LifeGoRound content on non-LifeGoRound-compliant Digital Frames?
If you do not use a LifeGoRound-compliant Digital Frame, the automatic “stream” or “feed” will not exist. In order for you to enjoy your LifeGoRound content on a non-compliant WiFi Digital Photo Frame you can populate the “Smart – Public RSS Feed” (the orange RSS ICON in your Library). Press the “My RSS Feed” from the top of your LifeGoRound account and you get your own URL that you will need for all non-compliant devices.
If you are a electronics device manufacturer or chip developer and would like the simple details of how to become compliant with LifeGoR0und, please email us.
What is the difference between the Library Tab and the Friends Tab (Friends and Groups are together in the Friends tab)?
Think of your “Library” as all of “Your” content that is automatically part of your LifeGoRound feed to your certified LifeGoRound device (such as an eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo frame). If you do not want any albums or photos in your Library to be a part your digital frame “feed”, simply unselect it (deselect the check box). It is selected automatically by default. Think of the “Friends” tab as Albums and Photos that Friends and Family shared with YOU! You will also see “Groups” in the Friends tab and this is a cool and powerful method to share photos and albums with more then one person at a time. Creating or participating in “Groups” is also a clever way for you to share in a common event where more than one person had a camera present (or if you forgot your camera) you can all enjoy the photos as a collaboration.
There are several ways to populate your “Library”. And populating your Library, in effect, is using the LifeGoRound tools to help you bring in all of the Photos that you would like, whether they reside ONLINE of OFFLINE in a secure and private environment. Only the specific photos and albums that you want to share can be shared with the specific people you want to share them with.
Your Photos that Reside ONLINE
To add photos from any of your social networks or photo sharing sites (that we currently have built-in access to) simply click the “add photos” tab on the top of your LifeGoRound Home page and then select the “from a web site” tab. You will then see a drop down list of “current” networks of which LifeGoRound supports. Simply select your desired web site that you would like. Once you have entered the information that the “web site” requires, your photos from that web site are now part of your LifeGoRound stream:-) he web sites that you connect with will appear in your “Library” and will have the proper ICON showing the name of the site.. for instance “facebook” will say “facebook” and have the facebook ICON. Simply click on the facebook ICON to see the albums and photos. You can now do so much with these albums and photos including sharing them with friends and family.
How do I Add My Photos that Reside on my Computer (OFFLINE Photos):
To add photos from your local computer or USB drive, simply click the “add photos” tab on the top of your LifeGoRound Home page and then select the “from my computer” tab and a dialogue box will open to allow you to navigate and locate the photos that you would like to upload to LifeGoRound. Your UPLOADED photos will appear in your “Library” in the yellow ICON called “uploaded” with an arrow pointing up:-) Simply click on the yellow upload ICON any time you want to see what is in the Album. You can now do so much with these photos including sharing them with friends and family.
- Simply click the “Add Photos” link on the top navigation of your LifeGoRound page and select “from my computer”.
- Click the “Browse” button and navigate to the folder of the photos you would like to upload to your LifeGoRound.
- You can select up to 20 photos to add at once.
- Each photos can be a maximum of 1MB each.
- You will see a place to enter “Tags” . If you enter tags in this box, all of the photos that you upload during the upload session will be embedded with these “tags”. example: fall, foliage, autumn – all of these tags will be associated with each of the photos that you upload during the upload session and press “finish”.
- Once you press “finish” you can begin a new upload session. And you can use new “tags”
How did my “Friends” tab get populated?
A family or friend (that you “friended”) dropped the photos or albums onto your Profile. It is that simple. If you drag and drop photos and albums onto your friends and family members’ Profile image, then YOUR photos and albums will appear on their LifeGoRound page in their “Friends” tab when they click on YOUR Profile Image:-)
Tell me about the “Groups” (which I found in my Friends tab):
Creating or participating in a “Group” makes it so easy and fun to share your albums and photos with more than one person at a time. Example: Create a Group called “Family” and invite everyone in your family to be in the Group. Then when you drag and drop photos and albums onto the Group, everyone within the Groups enjoyed the photos immediately within their LifeGoRound.
Furthermore, Groups are a perfect way t0 allow many people who was at the same “event”, such as your kids Soccer Tournament, to share all the photos that were taken with many cameras, at the same event. All photos can be enjoyed within the Group. Even people that forgot to bring their camera to the vent can now enjoy the collaborative photos.
How do I share photos or albums with a Group?
If you are already a member of the Group, the Group name can be found under the Friends Tab in the Group section. Simply drag and drop the photos or albums that you want to share with the Group right on top of the Groups name (in the left panel of the Friends tab). Your content magically appears now in that Group for all participants.
If a Group does not yet exist, simply click “+ New Group” under the Friends tab and name the Group and invite the appropriate people to join the group.
Once the Group is created you can begin to populate the Group with photos and albums.
How does the “Invite to Group” work?
If you already have someone that you “befriended” (is your friend in LifeGoRound) start typing the persons name, email address or user name and their Profile Image should appear. Simply click the profile image to add it to the list of people that will be invited. Keep populating the “Friends to Invite” box until you are done and then press “Add to Group”. All of your current “friends” you invited will automatically be participants in that Group. At any time, the person can remove themselves.
If you want to invite people that are not yet your “friends” within LifeGoRound, simply type their email address and click the email address to add to the “Friends to Invite” box and then when you are all done populating the “Friends to Invite” box, click “Add to Group” and they will get an email notification sharing with them that you want them to participate in their NEW Group that you have created. They get a link to see the photos and can then choose to join or not to join.
Can I make a Group “Public” for any people to search and find it?
Yes! You will see when you are creating a Group there is a check box to make it searchable to the Public. This is a good idea to do for a ”larger” group of people that may have enjoyed the same “Concert” or sporting event or kids tournaments or worked at the same company or went to the same school, etc.
Do I really need to put my email address in my account?
We think you should. It’s the best way for your friends to find you, and it helps you to reset your password if you ever forget it. With your email address, you can also set your profile to send you notifications if a friend is sharing a message or a photo with you.
What is the purpose of getting a LifeGoRound email address?
This is one of the COOLEST features of LifeGoRound! You, your friends and your family can email you photos from anywhere in the world! Your email address can be found in your “settings”; it is YourUserName@my.lifegoround.com . When photos are emailed to your LifeGoRound account a new album is created with the email address that sent you the photo(s). So for instance, if you received an emailed photo from “feedback @ lifegoround.com” the photo(s) will appear in an album called “feedback @ lifegoround.com”. You can set up a “blacklist” just in case there are email addresses that you do not want to accept emailed photos from. You do this in your “settings”. The emailed photos will also magically, automatically, appear on your LifeGoRound-compliant device.
Send Photos from your iPhone directly to your LifeGoR0und, which of course, also sends it direct to your Digital Photo Frame. Select the photos that you want to send to LifeGoRound from your iPhone’s “Photo Library” and send them to your USERNAME@My.LifeGoRound.com email address. That’s it!
How do I Invite someone to join LifeGoRound?
Please click on “My Friends” on the upper right hand side of the LifeGoRound site.
You can choose several different ways to send out “invites”; individually or in groups.
How do I add “friends” to my account?
You must “Invite” a person to add you as a “friend”.
The person must also be a member of LifeGoRound (have an account)
If they do not have any account, simply Invite them to Join (see above).
Click on the Friends Tab (in your Library) and click +Add Friends.
How do I share photos and albums with friends and family?
First you have to be “friends” with them.
Then, find the photo or album you would like to share.
Then, on the LEFT panel, click on the Friends’ Tab
Then, drag and drop the photo or album onto your “friends” profile image
Your Friend will then see your shared photo or album when then click on YOUR Profile image (found in their Friends’ Tab)
TIP! When viewing a Photo in LifeGoRound, click the “SHARE This” button and you and you can email the photo direct to your Mobile Phone.
Do I have to do anything in LifeGoRound when I add new photos or albums in my Facebook, Flickr or other ONLINE accounts?
No. That is the incredible magic of our behind the scenes technology. LifeGoRound continuously refreshes and grabs your new content as it happens.
When I send NEW photos from my LifeGoRound to my Facebook account, what albums will they appear in on Facebook?
You will see an Album called “LifeGoRound” in your Facebook photos.
When I delete an Album or a Photo in LifeGoRound, does it delete it in my Facebook (or the online source it originally came from)?
No. It only deletes the Album or Photo from your LifeGoRound.
Please tell me how the TRASH cans work in LifeGoRound. I see a TRASH CAN in the Album view and I see an ICON called “Smart – Trash Can”:
We made deleting Photos within Albums as smart and as safe as possible. When you are viewing an Album, you will see a Trash can on the bottom right corner. If you want to remove a photo from that Album, simply drag and drop the photo into the Trash Can. The photo is the removed from that Album. (And it is ONLY removed from the Album in your LifeGoRound account).
If that Photo resides anywhere else within LifeGoRound (in an other album), its stays put in the other albums(s).
If the Photo that you put in the Trash can was ONLY in that specific Album and no where else within your LifeGoRound, then the Photo will appear in the “Smart – Trash Can” as a final fail-stop to make sure you want to delete it or not. It will stay in the Smart -Trash Can until you open the can, by clicking on it and dragging the photo, once again, to the trash bin in the bottom right hand corner.
When I share photos or albums with my friends and family, can they modify/edit the title, description or tags?
No. Only you, the owner, can do so.
When I make “comments” on a photo, do the comments show up on the photos for all the people I drag and dropped that photo to?
Yes! It wouldn’t be as much fun if the comments were not enjoyed by all.
How do I add Photos from my computer?
Please click the “Add Photos” on the top navigation bar. Then click the ”from my computer” tab
How do I add my Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Twitter accounts to LifeGoRound?
Please click the “Add Photos” on the top navigation bar.
Why is the photo sharing / printing site that I use is not listed in the “add photos” tab. what do I do?
We are making all efforts to involve as many photo sharing sites as well as the retailers that you may get your prints done. Sometimes it is not easy to connect with the right departments at these organizations. But give us an “A” for trying:-)
If you are a Retailer or Photo Sharing / Printing site that would allow us to connect to your API so your customers can enjoy the full benefit of keeping their photos (and pricing requirements) with you, please email us.
I see I can add my Youtube account to LifeGoRound. What do I get to enjoy from Youtube?
This feature is very cool! When you add your Youtube account to LifeGoRound your Youtube “Favorites”, “Playlists” as well as your own uploaded Youtube videos, automatically appears and streams on your LifeGoRound account. You can share each of the videos in the same manner as your do photos and albums, by dragging and dropping them onto a “Friends” Profile Image, or onto a “Group”.
If you wanted to enjoy the Youtube videos on your LifeGoRound-compliant device you have to make sure that the device is capable of playing “video”. If your device is “video” capable, your Youtube videos will automatically appear on your device, with no further action required other than to enjoy:-)
How do I connect a LifeGoRound Compliant device (such as the eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame)?
We made this to be as simple as: Click NEW to the right of “MY frames” in your library. It will ask you to type in a special key” that will appear on the screen of your LifeGoRound compliant device. That’s it!!
You can now enter your own RSS Feeds! You can enter Photo “only” RSS feeds or News/Text/Photo RSS Feeds. Simply go to your “Settings” and you will see the RSS logo to click:
- Use RSS Photo Feeds from the likes of Flickr.com, Photographers’ sites, http://MyDigitalContent.com, etc.
- Use News/Text/Photo Feeds from the likes of People.com, NFL.com, Parenting.com, The New York Times, ESPN, etc.
I have a great idea for improving LifeGoRound. Want to hear it?
Wow! Would we appreciate that! We are dedciated to constantly improving the site’s user experience. Your feedback is critical to helping us understand how you want to see the site evolve. Please don’t be shy and let us know your thoughts!
What is a “Beta” Site? You have a “Beta” sign on the top of LifeGoRound:
Beta refers to a website that isn’t quite ready for an open launch to the public. There may still be a few bugs and the features and interface are being tweaked to improve the user experience. This is why your FEEDBACK, THOUGHTS, SUGGESTIONS and letting is know of any bugs you may find is very important to us:-)
